Fink Droplet Hanging Light
Designed by Robert Foster
The FINK Droplet Hanging Light is designed by Robert Foster and the prototype was shown originally at Robert’s solo exhibition at Metalab 2009. The design was extrapolated for a commissioned installation of 22 individual lighting forms for the foyer of the British High Commission in Canberra and further streamlined for the Fink-designed fit-out of the café in the new ActewAGL building in Canberra.
The design is a junction between our unique thermo forming process with a form that is reminiscent of a droplet of dew running down a blade of grass or the hanging crystallise from a butterfly. Robert wanted to create a natural form which would inspire but that was still distinct and unseen in the realm of design: breaking the boundaries between reality and creative vision.
